Community Guidelines
Effective date: 13 November 2025
1. Why These Guidelines Matter
GospelWed exists to help Christian singles pursue Christ-centered marriages. These Community Guidelines spell out the standards we expect every member to uphold so we can maintain a safe, respectful, and faith-aligned community. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and are enforced by our trust & safety team.
2. Authenticity & Intent
- Use your real identity, including name, age, marital status, and denominational background.
- Be transparent about your intention to pursue marriage; casual dating, friendship-only use, or solicitation is not permitted.
- Guardians creating profiles must have documented consent from the person they represent and keep details accurate.
- Do not create duplicate accounts or allow others to access your profile.
3. Respectful Communication
- Speak with kindness and empathy; avoid harassment, bullying, or language that demeans faith, culture, or personal background.
- Do not pressure anyone to share personal information, meet offline, or respond immediately.
- After a match, honour boundaries around contact frequency, tone, and expectations of next steps.
- Report any suspicious outreach, scam attempts, or inappropriate content through the in-app tools.
4. Profile & Photo Standards
- Upload clear, recent photos of yourself. Blurry images, collages, or heavily edited pictures may be rejected.
- Content must remain modest and PG-rated; no explicit, suggestive, or offensive imagery.
- Do not share photos or documents containing sensitive personal data such as IDs, financial records, or third-party information.
- Private photos unlocked after a match are strictly confidential. Screenshots, downloads, or sharing are violations that may lead to bans.
5. Faith-Driven Conduct
- Celebrate diversity across denominations while upholding GospelWed’s Christian values.
- Do not proselytise in a manner that disrespects another member’s belief or worship practices.
- Explicit content, occult references, or content that contradicts our faith-based mission will be removed.
6. Safety Practices
- Begin conversations within the app until you feel confident to connect by phone or in person.
- For meetings, choose public spaces, inform trusted friends or family, and manage your own travel arrangements.
- Never share passwords, one-time passcodes, or financial information.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, pause communication and seek support.
7. Prohibited Activities
- Hate speech, discrimination, threats, or intimidation of any individual or group.
- Scams, financial solicitation, pyramid schemes, or requests for money or gifts.
- Sharing explicit content, requesting intimate imagery, or promoting sexual content.
- Using automation, bots, scraping tools, or unauthorised plugins to interact with the platform.
- Harvesting, selling, or redistributing data obtained from GospelWed.
8. Reporting, Blocking & Support
- Use the in-app “Report User” function to alert us to policy violations, safety concerns, or suspicious behaviour.
- Block users who cross boundaries; they will be removed from your discovery, interests, and matches.
- For urgent matters or to share evidence, email support@gospelwed.com.
- We acknowledge safety reports within 24 hours and prioritise high-risk cases.
9. Enforcement Actions
- Every report is reviewed by trained moderators who may request additional context.
- Enforcement ranges from educational nudges and warnings to temporary suspensions or permanent bans.
- Serious threats, exploitation, or illegal activity may be escalated to law enforcement or relevant authorities.
- We maintain audit logs for at least 24 months to support appeals and regulatory obligations.
10. Partner & Public Spaces
- Testimonials or success stories shared with GospelWed may be anonymised and published with your consent.
- Respect confidentiality if you join beta programs, feedback councils, or test unreleased features.
- Any community forums or events hosted by GospelWed inherit these guidelines and may include additional rules.
11. Grievances & Appeals
If you believe an enforcement decision was made in error, contact our Grievance Officer at support@gospelwed.com. We will acknowledge your appeal within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days, consistent with the DPDP Act.
12. Updates to These Guidelines
We review these guidelines regularly to reflect new safety insights, Google Play policies, and Indian regulatory developments. Significant updates will be announced through in-app notices or email (where available) and recorded with a new effective date.
